The Main Divide wines are produced by the Donaldson family (read “of Pegasus Bay fame”), but are made from non-estate fruit so as to come in at a more affordable price. This one is a winner. Interestingly deep colour for a Pinot Noir, it covers a nice spectrum from red berry fruit through to some earth undertones. A soft approach, but there’s still liveliness, fine tannins, and a decent finish. I don’t know that you could ask for more at this level and I confess that my first glass caused me to return to the store and buy two more bottles the next day.
($30 plus tax BCLCB) Very Good
